If I Were a Brick, Where Would I Go?

I’m brand new. Not too tall even standing on edge, but I’m

as hard as a rock and ready to go to work. As a newly

fashioned brick, where would I like to go?

A lot of my cousins ended up in a brick wall. Not my

choice. A wall often separates people; I would rather not.

Also have you heard the saying, “up against a brick wall?”

No thanks. Not for me.

How about being part of a chimney? Stand tall. Seen from

a distance. Performing a positive function. Not a bad

career, but a bit out of the way. I’d rather be closer to people.

Being part of a fireplace would satisfy that desire. I’d also be

kept warm in the winter and doing something meaningful.

I think I’m getting close. Where else is there? A step? A

walkway?

I think I know where I would like to go. I’d like to be inscribed

with a family name or something else meaningful and be placed

along the meandering path in Serenity Woods. That’s my dream.

Now I need someone to make my dream come true. Is that you?
